The Langley Academy’s ‘A Collection of Collections’
Back
The Langley Academy’s ‘A Collection of Collections’ Exhibition is a wonderful way to share more about ourselves and what connects us outside of work. If you haven’t visited yet, it’s a must—featuring Danielle’s newspapers chronicling Ireland’s fight for independence and Tom Kidd’s Air Max collection, including the Air Max One from the year he was born.
Music, which has the power to bring people together is represented in three collections:
- Velvet Sheppard’s Love of Music records, perfect for focus, relaxation, and dancing
- Andrea Bown’s Music Across the Ages series: Now That’s What I Call Music
- Michael Summers’ Art, Design, and Music collection, showcasing creative sleeve artwork and track order
Other highlights include:
- Pete’s What Has It Seen? Where Has It Been? The stories our coins could tell
- Jas’ Humble Magnet, capturing happy memories
- Rashida’s For the Thrill of It stamps – a journey through time and continents
- Mark Rider’s Fantastic Funko Pops, larger-than-life anime characters
Staff have really enjoyed reading the labels. It’s fascinating to hear what first sparked these collections, the joy they’ve brought, and the conversations they have started between our staff.
